Huard, Heidi:

Passed away, unexpectedly, on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at her home in Kitchener at the age of 56. Loving mother to Matthew. Predeceased by sister, Renee. A loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, friend and cherished member of her family and neighbourhood. Heidi was always eager to help others. A kind, generous and gentle soul; she put others before herself. A child at heart, Heidi loved music, drama, the arts, and laughter. She was a shining light who would befriend everyone. Funny, smart and witty. Heidi loved unconditionally, and without judgment. Her always present smile and vivacious personality will be greatly missed.

Heidi's family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 - 4:15 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2020 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral liturgy will follow in the chapel at 4:30 p.m.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the SickKids Foundation and Canadian Mental Health Association - Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

So sad to hear of Heidi's passing. She was my very dear friend and a sweet, kind and loving Soul. When we first met she was about 18, I was 25, and we knew we would be friends for life. She and I got the biggest kick out of both being not only Heidi, but Heidi H! Although we had not seen each other in 40 years, we kept in touch by phone. I loved hearing her sweet voice, sharing a memory, or singing a song, or laughing about something silly.

Heidi was such a passionate person, who loved her Family dearly. Her Son, Matthew, was the light of her life. But ... it just does not feel right saying these words in past tense .... Souls never die, they just move to other dimensions. So I will rephrase and say, Matthew IS the light of her life, and I am sure she is watching over him always! Matthew please know this, and I hope so much that you can feel that she is still with you.

Heidi, you may be gone from this Life, but I know you have just moved onto another realm, and we will surely meet again. I love you forever, my dearest Heidi Jo ... love from Heidi Ho ~

Heidi was more than my dear sister-in-law but also a beloved member of my family. We all adored her especially my parents who always thought of her as a second daughter. I fondly remember when she lovingly took care of me when I stayed with Heidi in Penetanguishine one summer when I was a teen. She even taught me to drive that summer and would proudly mention it every time I saw her. I had the pleasure of seeing Heidi over Christmas and she was able to meet my husband and daughter. It will be a memory I will cherish forever. I feel truly blessed to have known Heidi and her kindness, strength, and positivity will live on and never be forgotten!

I’ll always remember the laughs and stories we would share whenever we were together. Heidi had some great stories she would share with me from our childhood and we made a few good memories together as adults. I’m sure I can speak for my sister Colleen when I say we’ll never forget the Christmas we all stayed at Colleen’s house and when Heidi got into bed with us she said “ move over bacon it’s Sizzlean” . We still laugh about that to this day. Never a dull moment when Heidi was around. May you Rest In Peace and I hope you’re laughing more than ever with your mom, sister and our Grandma Marge. Heidi was an amazing woman from the time i entered her house to the time i left she was always chatting my ear off about something. Normally to do with my daughter, she loved hearing about little Scarlett Rose and was always smiling when she was listening to my stories. The earth lost an angel and heaven gained one. Heidi will be greatly missed and always remembered. Lots of love xoxox
