It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey Huber - our loving Dad, Grandpa and Great-grandpa on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, in his 78th year.
His passions included spending time with family and friends, tinkering around in his shop, supporting his grandkids' many activities, and watching junior hockey in the area.
He is predeceased by the love of his life, Theresa Huber (Beitz) in 2001 after 35 years of marriage. He is a loving Dad to Sheri Huber (Darryl Gray), Brian Huber (Sherry) and Tracy Coutts (Rob). He will be forever remembered as an amazing Grandpa to Caitlin (Andrew), Brittany (Steven), Ashley, Jessica, Joshua and Lucas. He's also the beloved Great-grandpa to Rylie, Braxxton, Bryce, Dexter, and Raelynn.
He is the dear brother of sisters Doris Gutscher, Reta Heimpel, Verna Williams, and Betty Voisin (Rick). He is predeceased by his parents Cyril and Evelyn (Schefter) Huber, his brothers, Ross, Allan and Jerry, and sister, Madelyn, as well as cherished in-laws.
He will be missed and forever remembered for his bright smile, cheerful laugh, and quick wit by the Huber and Beitz families, and countless number of dear friends.
All who visited "Harvey's Shop" were entertained by his great sense of humour, and told "here, hold this for a minute". They also never left without some parting words of wisdom - "keep 'er between the fences!" or "don't do anything I wouldn't do!"
Harvey enjoyed over 35 years as a crane operator with G&A Masonry in Breslau where he treasured the friendships and lasting bonds within the company and built a lifetime of acquaintances and memories along the way.
As an active volunteer with the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins Jr. B. Hockey Club, Harvey was just one season shy of an impressive 40 year run, which started back in 1984-85 with his love, Theresa.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street in Kitchener. 519-749-8467. A final visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024. The liturgy services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception. Interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery following the reception.
