The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Harold Shantz can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Harold was a great man. I will miss his humour and his smile. I had the pleasure of meeting him last Fall. Sue often speaks of her Dad and how they had fun on the ice. He was a true Hockey Dad taking the kids all over the country for Hockey Tournaments. I am sending my sincerest condolences to Fern and the family as well as friends. I am sending you a virtual hug and will be here for the family in the days ahead. I will miss Harold.

Condolence: For many years I shared the arena ice with Harold. A gentleman, on and off the ice. A quiet and good sense of humour, Harold never said a mean word. Our conversations covered theology, church hymns, the kindness of Baptists, generosity as a way of life, being a good neighbour as a one of the best things any person could be, and many other topics. I will miss his gentle presence. Always a kind thing to say, and a realistic view of life. A man of great character and integrity. I am extremely grateful that I was blessed to be next to him on the dressing room bench.
