Hans G. Gurski
Passed away quietly with family by his side, on February 29, 2020 at St. Mary's hospital in Kitchener at the age of 92.
He retired from Babcock & Wilcox Canada (B&W now known as BWXT Canada Ltd) as a Senior Project Technologist in 1992 and had been a long standing member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. He was passionate and proud of his work which included the designing of equipment.
Hans will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Marta, and his children, Marie Gommans (John), Michael (Fran), Angela Kowalchuk (Oskar Staher), and Jeanette Marchand (Thomas). Hans will also be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Matthew Gurski (Brittney), Anne Nieder (Paul), Jeremy Gurski (Nicole), Nickolas Gommans (Fran), Monique Gommans (Brian Sonekeo), Chantal Roedell (Carl), Isabella Marchand, Grant Marchand (Cristina) and Rachel Oda (Carlos), and by his twelve great grandchildren Evan, Lily, Owen, Violet, Evelyn, Phillipa, Jessica, Iris, Gia, Coda, Jack and Olivia. Brother of Jutta Menz and Jurgen (Ruth). Brother-in-law of Gerda Nollenberger, Erwin Nollenberger (Ute), and Elisabeth Wendt. Predeceased by his son Peter, brother-in-laws Kurt Menz, Wolfgang Nollenberger and Wolfgang Wendt. Hans will also be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends.
Hans will be remembered for his love of drawing, music (both listening and playing), Engineering work, and the many day trips with his wife.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Briarfield Gardens, Kitchener on Saturday June 20th, 2020 from 3-5:30 pm.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made in memory of Hans to the Alzheimer's Society or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
