August 27, 1931 – April 29, 2022
Guenther Froese entered his eternal home to join family and friends on Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Catharines General Hospital. He loved his wife Ruth (McCauley), of 29 years, his children Heidi (Froese) Woosley, Thomas Froese (m. Jean Chamberlain) and David Salverda, and his grandchildren David Woosley, and Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Hannah Froese, along with his sister, Ruth, his brother, Wilfred, his nephews Klaus, Norbert and Gerry, and his niece, Margo.
Guenther was predeceased in 1970 by his first wife, Hannelore (Fricke). Born in Germany, he lived a full life, surviving war experiences in his youth before training as a therapeutic massage therapist and emigrating to Canada. A highly-respected therapist in Niagara, he practiced for more than 50 years, well into his 80s.
For more than 20 years he owned and operated a Thorold community home to help others. Guenther valued his Mennonite heritage, along with books and life-long learning. Until we meet in our eternal home, Guenther will be in our hearts.
Private burial held at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. Arrangements with Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467. A celebration of Guenther's life is at Redeemer Bible Church, 3017 Montrose Rd, Niagara Falls, Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Family welcomes donations to Save the Mothers (
