It is with indescribable sadness and shock that we announce the passing of Gord Dilworth on April 30, 2022, at home surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 67.
The beloved husband of Pauline of 45 years. Cherished Dad of Nick and Joel (Stephanie) and devoted, caring Grampa of Cole, Luke and Kate.
Gord will be deeply missed by his sister Shirley (Roy) Petty. Gord will be remembered forever by, Brenda/Glen, Harold/Lois, Carl/Laurie, Ray/Shelly and Doug/Janet, who were always like brothers and sisters to him. Nieces, Nephews and their families will treasure the memories of their fun times with their Uncle “Gordo”.
He will also be extremely missed by a long list of close friends that he enjoyed so many laughs with over the years.
Gord retired after 40+ years in the furniture industry. The 10 years at Durham Furniture where he finished as President and CEO meant the most to him. Gord’s dedication to each company he worked with led to a wonderful career and lasting legacy that he, his family and friends are very proud of.
He loved most sports but was happiest when he was fishing or golfing. Getaways with family and friends to places like Ellicottville, Niagara Falls and Barrie were his favourite, but it was the little things he loved like perfecting his lawn, barbecuing, feeding the deer, grocery shopping and being Grampa that made him unique.
We will all miss and never forget his endless energy, strive for perfection, eagerness to help and caring, loving heart.
Above all, it’s his smile and laugh that we’ll all hold on to forever.
Gord's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00-5:00pm on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. At the request of the family relatives and friends must RSVP to attend Gord's visitation through the funeral home website or by calling the funeral home directly.(Please note- children aged 5 and under do not need to register.) Masks are mandatory. Please refrain from handshakes and hugs.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the MS Society Canada- Bruce Grey Chapter, Canadian Cancer Society and Durham And District Foodbank would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
