Haynes, Gertrude:
Passed away peacefully with family at her side on Friday, February 24, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 91.
Beloved wife of the late Leonard (May 24, 2021).
Loving mother of Neil (Wanda Santos-Haynes) and Paul Haynes.
Cherished grandma of Gregory (Nicole), Karen Yake (Cam) and Kimberly.
Great-grandma to Lily and Zoey.
Gertrude enjoyed her career as a teacher and taught in small country schools until she became a devoted and loving mother. She was an accomplished pianist who served as a church pianist for many years.
Gertrude's family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 and will continue from 9:30 - 10:15 AM on Wednesday at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467.
The funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 1st in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception.
A private interment will take place at Elmira Union Cemetery following the reception.
