Obituary for Gerry Hogan

Hogan, Gerald Andrew:

Passed away peacefully at Innisfree House surrounded by family on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the age of 92.

Beloved husband of Catherine "Kay" Cybulski-Hogan, and the late Joan Hogan (1991). Deeply missed by his children Doug (Joy) Hogan, Nancy (Terry) Penner, and Pat (Naoko) Hogan.

Cherished grandfather of Billie, Jennifer, David, Jessica, Christine (Matt), Kureha and Kaito; and great-grandfather of Violet, Nikola and Makkie.

Predeceased by his parents Emil and Susan, brother Lorne (Doreen) and sister Ethel (Bob).

He will be missed by Catherine's children and grandchildren who welcomed him into their families. Greg (Sue), Tim (Sheri), Jerome, Lori (Roger), Rick (Linda), and grandchildren Mark, Ryan, Colleen, Jenna, Ben and Nicole.

Gerry will missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Gerald worked for 38 years at General Springs / Lear Seating. He loved animals, fishing, camping at Park Haven Lake, and travelling. Gerald volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul for 12 years.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at St. Mary Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 56 Duke Street West, Kitchener. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.

Special thanks to Dr. Rosenstein and Dr. Sohail, to the nurses, dialysis assistants and clinical secretaries on the 3rd and 7th Floor Dialysis Units at Grand River Hospital. He was blessed with smiles and excellent care over the past 15 years.

Special thanks to the caring nurses and PSW's at Innisfree House during his final days of life.
