Kraehling, George Frank:
Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the age of 59. George was a beloved husband to Mary (nee Spencer) for 28 years and devoted father to Matt (Terilyn Smith) and Laura. Dear brother to John(Sandy) and Lisa(Steve). Predeceased by his parents George and Ann. His dog Harley will miss him and their morning cuddles and walks.
George was a 28-year employee at Stantec Engineering providing leadership and project management to multi-discipline projects. He will be missed for his dedication and commitment to his customers.
George was a past president of the Kitchener Schwaben Club, a member of the Donau Dancers and the current Canadian President of the World Association (Weltdachverband) of Donauschwaben. He was passionate about furthering the Schwaben culture and was always spreading the gemütlichkeit at club functions and Oktoberfest through his dance and good cheer.
George was also a member and past president of the Grand River Harley Owners Group and was never happier when he was on his Harley or taking the boat out to cruise the lakes at his Florida home.
Arrangements entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home, (519-749-8467) 507 Frederick St. Kitchener, Ontario. A private time of remembrance will be held by the family with cremation to follow. Guests are welcome to view the livestream of the service on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. https://www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming. A memorial will be held later in 2021 when it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, the Canadian Schwaben Sick Benefits Association (Kitchener Schwaben Club) and to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (cards available at the funeral home).
