Obituary for George Divaris
George Andreas Divaris passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2022.
George was born on October 14, 1928 in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia.
He was a kind and loving husband for 65 years to his wife Catherine who passed away in 2020. He was an amazing father to his sons Gerassimos (Gerry) and Dimitrios (Demo) and father in law to Soula and Irene, grandfather to Aliki, Georgina, Catherine and Jenny.
He was a hero to all of us and the most courageous, resilient and resourceful man. We never questioned his love because of the incredible sacrifices he made for us for a better future in Canada. He was an incredible man, the last of the great Greek Rhodesian gentlemen, a best friend, survivor, veteran, role model, and coach who taught us to be free and critical thinkers, self- reliant, independent and confident. He was always above reproach and attained successes despite experiencing many hardships in his life. An ordinary man who always did things extraordinarily well.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 527 Bridgeport Rd., Kitchener, Ontario.
