Passed away suddenly at St. Mary's Hospital on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the age of 83.
Beloved husband of Pat Rittinger for over 44 years. Loving father of Carey (Patti), Wendy (Kevin), Andrea and Shelley. Proud Grandpa of Shelby, Amber, Ashley, Kristen, Brooklynn, Devon, Daylon, Davian and Olivia. Son of the late Isobel and her husband Bruce Compass. Predeceased by his in-laws Edna and Tony Retzler. Dear brother of the late Lynda (Ken). Brother-in-law of Diane (Tom) and Dennis (Debbie).
Garnie enjoyed a lengthy sales career with Silverwoods Dairy and then Hostess Frito Lay where he retired from. He loved golfing, horses, listening to his country music and was a die-hard Leaf fan. Garnie is now reunited with his golfing buddies and his 3 dogs Toby, Max and Bailey.
Garnet's family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519) 749-8467.
