Giebat, Erwin Otto:
May 21, 1935 - June 29, 2023
Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Lanark Heights Long Term Care in Kitchener at the age of 88.
Beloved husband of Greta for 63 years. Loving father of Mike (Darlene) and Richard (Jamie). Cherished Opa of Bradley and Jason. Dear brother of the late Helmut and Karl (late Irene). Brother-in-law of the late Michael (late Katherina) Paulini, the late Anna Neubauer, John (Katie) Paulini, late Andreas (Renate) Paulini, Sara (late Henry) Mueller and Matthew (Nancy) Paulini. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents, Otto and Anna (Nee Nickel).
Erwin came to Canada in 1954. Shortly after his arrival he started his own masonry business which he worked in until his retirement. Erwin was a longtime member of the Transylvania club and choir and a dedicated member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church for over 50 years.
Special thanks to the staff and his "little ones" from Lanark Heights Long Term Care for the love and care he was given.
Erwin's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 in the chapel followed by a reception. Interment at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Martin Luther Church, Huntington Society of Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
