Bartley, Eileen:
Passed away on January 22nd, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, ON at the age of 95.
Beloved mother of Sherry Rosin (Jeff) and Tom Bartley.
Proud grandma to Eric (Jenn) and James Rosin.
Great grandmother to Emmeryk Rosin.
Predeceased by her husband Bruce (1978) and parents Charles and Ada Farquhar.
Eileen was born on a farm in Quebec. She was an only child. After the war she moved to the KW area. In 1950 she married into a large extended family. The Bartleys were colorful. Eileen was shy, but her intelligence, determination and sense of humor won most people over. Forever.
She matured into a strong woman who enjoyed her independence and loved her family.
Eileen was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church for 60 years.
She was a terrific bridge player who also enjoyed traveling and quiet days spent with good books. She knew her way around the casinos and shopping malls. Eileen was a loyal and fun friend to many people of all ages. She was great company.
A celebration of Eileen's life will be announced at a later date.
We extend our thanks to the people who made the last months of Eileen's life more comfortable. Dr. Day and all the nurses and staff of St. Mary's Hospital treated her with great dignity and provided excellent care. The dynamic advocacy and support received from Julie Mathews will always be appreciated. The devoted care and good company of her PSWs Neema and Sarah brightened Eileen's days.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the CNIB Foundation- Guide Dog Program would be appreciated by the family. (cards available at the funeral home).
