Thomson, E. Brian:
Surrounded by his loving family, Brian passed away unexpectedly at K-W Campus of Grand River Hospital, on Friday, November 15, 2019, at the age of 77.

Loving husband of 55 years to Shirley (nee Barnett). Cherished dad of Nancy Thomson (Mike Murtagh), Sarah Thomson (Dave Schippling) and Joey Thomson (Cynthia Shanks). Poppa will be missed by his grandchildren, Paige, Jenna, Zach, Alex, Conley, Jacob, Tyson, Ethan, Colton, and Edward. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Catherine (nee O'Brien) Thomson and his 4 siblings.

Brian was a dedicated employee for the City of Kitchener, where he worked with the Parks and Recreation department on the "Trails", and was fondly known as Papa Smurf. He was a faithful member of St. John's R.C. Church.

Brian's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. John's R.C. Church, 85 Strange St., Kitchener, on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 11 a.m . A reception will follow in the church hall. Private Cremation.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the KW Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
