Obituary for Eduardo Manuel Tavares

Tavares, Eduardo "Ed":

Passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the age of 53.

Beloved husband of Jennifer (nee Yanchus) for 18 years.
Loving father of Jordan and Tristan.
Cherished son of Eduardo and Maria.
Dear brother of Maria and Fernando.
Uncle of Izabella, Sophia, Ben, Noah and Hunter.
Will be remembered by his sister-in-laws Helen Yanchus (Bill McClenny) and Christina (Dean) Boutillier, and brother-in-law Patrick Yanchus.

Ed took pride in his work with Becker Bros. Towing and Trucking, where he worked for more than 20 years, driving anything and everything. He always worked his hardest and was known as the "go-to guy", always there to help out others. He was as dependable as they come and very down to earth. Ed enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, working on his jeep and snuggling with his dogs. Most importantly, Ed loved spending time with his family, especially the love of his life, Jen, and the two boys, Jordan and Tristan. Relaxing at the trailer, going swimming and hanging out around the campfire are special times the family enjoyed together, especially with close friends, Deb and Loui.

Ed's family will receive relatives and friends from 12 - 3 p.m. & 5 -9 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne's RC Church, 268 East Ave., Kitchener on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. Those wishing to attend Ed's visitation and service must RSVP through the funeral home website or by calling 519-749-8467. Face masks are mandatory. For those unable to attend, Ed's service may be viewed via live stream at https://www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming

A burial of ashes will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Williamsburg Cemetery. All are welcome to attend. Social distancing rules in place.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to McMaster Children's Hospital would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
