Obituary for Edith May Modrowski

Modrowski, Edith (nee Duncan):

Passed away peacefully at Derbeckers' Heritage House, St. Jacobs' on Monday, May 15th, 2023 at the age of 89.

Beloved wife of 58 years to Edward Modrowski.

Loving mother of Ross Drayton (Beth), Judy Schaffner (Mike Matte), Brenda Meyer (Dave), Edward Modrowski and Brian Modrowski.

Grandma to Michael Drayton, Jason Drayton (Karrie), Stephanie Bland (Harrison), Lisa Schaffner, Megan Meyer (Duke), Emmett Modrowski.

Great-grandma to Cameron McKnight, Kieran McKnight-Drayton, Brianna Bland, Lilly Bland and Kirralynn Drayton.

Sister of Connie Curtis. Sister-in-law of June Duncan and Amy Kaufman.

Predeceased by parents, siblings Ross Duncan (Vi), Ken Duncan, Evelyn Schlonies (Bruno), her brothers-in-law Bob Curtis, Stan Modrowski (Ann and Tennie), Frank Modrowski (Jenny) and her sisters-in-law Jenny MacDonald (Joe) and Stella Prior (Bill). Son-in-law Ralph Schaffner (2018).

Edith served with the Canadian Air Force and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Waterloo Branch 580. She was employed for many years with the University of Waterloo.

Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.  

A service will be held to remember Edith will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Henry Walser Funeral Home. Daniel Bowyer officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Epilepsy South Central Ontario or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
