SCHEDEWITZ Earl Theophil (1931-2019)

After a blessed life, Earl passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday October 26th at the age of 87 years.

Predeceased by his brothers, Oscar, Hilbert, his son Jim, and his first love and wife Doris Schedewitz (nee Hemmerich). Survived by his sister-in-law Marion Schedewitz.

Earl was born November 10th 1931 and baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Elmira where he confirmed his faith on May 20th 1945.

Earl was privileged to love and marry Gwen (nee Kochem) for 34 years. Earl and Gwen shared five children Sandra (Jack) Janzen, Jim Schedewitz, Kelley (Jodi) Schedewitz, step children Deb (Richard) Chappell, Michael (Ginger) Chappell.

Earl’s life was blessed with grandchildren Sarah (Jeremy) Frahn, Brandon Chappell, Kate (Rich) Henderson, Brad (Sarah) Schedewitz, Jacob (Tyralea) Janzen, Jessica (Quinn) Chappell, Zak Vizeau and Paige Carlson.

Great grandchildren, Oliver, Briel, Maddy, Brixton, Carson and Charley are an added perk.

Earl enjoyed story telling, squirrels, good scotch, “gourmet” food, calling turkeys and old hymns.

Upon Earl’s request a memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church Waterloo at 11:00am on Friday November 1st 2019. The family invites you to join them for lunch at the church immediately following the service. Internment at Union Cemetery Elmira will follow lunch.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Lutheran Hour Ministries c/o Lutheran Laymen's League of Canada would be appreciated.
