Obituary for Doreen Shantz
Shantz, Doreen (nee Henderson):
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Freeport Hospital at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Neil in 2019. Doreen is survived by her siblings, Raymond (Late Joyce) Henderson, Eleanor (Ken) Yule, Reginald, Lloyd and Brenda Henderson (Monty Fritch). Doreen will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, many uncles and aunts and other extended family. She was predeceased by siblings Roy (Jean), Bill (Gwen), Bruce and Beverley Webster.
Doreen's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at University Gates and Freeport Hosptial for being such a compassionate surrogate family through these difficult years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's R.C. Church - Madison Ave. S. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. and will be followed by a light reception in the church hall.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph's R.C. Church - Madison Ave. S would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
