Obituary for Dolores Fitzpatrick

FITZPATRICK, Margaret Dolores
March 23, 1930 - March 15, 2023

Dolores (Crerand) Fitzpatrick was called to be with the Lord on March 15, 2023, in her 93rd year.

Beloved mother of Timothy P. Fitzpatrick (Vancouver), Colleen Fitzpatrick (Kelowna), Maureen Coulter and her husband David (Waterloo), Kathleen Bauer and her husband Peter (Waterloo). Adored by her nine grandchildren Timothy, Keegan, and Brielle Fitzpatrick, Patrick, Meaghan, and Liam Dietrich, Shannon Coulter, and Brendan and Erin Bauer.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Timothy, of 54 years (2004), cherished son Robert (1989), mother Blanche (1995), and father Archibald Crerand (1983), and sister Patricia Marzec (2016).

Dolores will be dearly missed by her sisters, Yvonne Hilker (Cambridge), Donna Donkers (Waterloo), Lorraine Prior and her husband Don (Waterloo). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mom lived a beautiful, long life. She was born in Galt, Ontario, and lived briefly in Hamilton and Peterborough, before settling in Kitchener. After raising her five children, she worked at St. Jerome's High School, followed by Resurrection High School, until her retirement. Mom leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and laughter. She was well-liked by all that she met and had a good sense of humour. People will remember her calling them "dear". She proudly impressed people by reciting the alphabet backward which she learned as a young girl. She loved caring for her family. She enjoyed celebrating holidays, especially St. Patrick's Day, and spoiled her family with home-cooked dinners. There was always room for another seat at the dinner table. We will miss her cooking especially her Sunday Roast beef dinners always served with dessert, including her delicious butter tarts and homemade pies with ice cream. She will also be remembered for her beautiful voice and choir singing. She often traveled with Dad and loved visiting Florida, Las Vegas, and Ireland. She was an avid supporter of many local charities and was often seen canvassing for the Canadian Cancer Society. She worked alongside Dad raising money for local non-profits through Shamrock Charities.

We would like to sincerely thank the exceptional staff at The Village of University Gates (Johnston) for their gentle and compassionate care for over three years, especially Karen (Pinky), Melissa, Noah and Rin Rin. Many thanks to the caring staff at Westhill Retirement Residence where she previously resided.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2-5 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.

The Funeral Mass celebrating Dolores' life and faith will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Daniel R.C. Church, Kitchener, followed by a reception at the Parish Life Centre. Interment afterward at Woodland Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the The Catholic Community Foundation of Waterloo Region - Robert Fitzpatrick Memorial Scholarship Fund https://www.ccfowr.ca/, the Carmel of St. Joseph, the Canadian Cancer Society (cards available at the funeral home), or a donation to a charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.

Mom - "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; and rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
