Obituary for Dieter Hagelberg

Hagelberg, Dieter

It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our son, Dieter Hagelberg. At just 56 years old, he departed this world a, mere two days after his return home from a major surgery.

Dieter was the beloved son to Baerbel Hagelberg and Dieter Hagelberg Sr., a supportive father to Devin Hagelberg and Diane Hagelberg and a close confidant and friend to Joe Caggiano.

Dieter exemplified leadership through his role as a foreman at GA Masonry, where he dedicated many years of service. His craftsmanship as a skilled bricklayer adorned countless structures across our province, leaving an enduring legacy etched in mortar and brick. Beyond his professional skills, Dieter was known for his jovial spirit, infectious humor and boundless generosity. His workplace wasn't merely a site of labor, but a community of cherished friendships nurtured by his spirit of camaraderie, laughter, and genuine care for others.

His absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives, but his memory will be forever cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Waterloo Regional Police, Kitchener Fire Department, and Paramedics for their unwavering services and compassion during this difficult time. Our sincere appreciation also goes to the caregivers at St. Mary's Cardiac Center, and a special thank you to Tessa Bulic for her support and kindness.

"We are sad within our memory, lonely are our hearts today"
