Obituary for Hugh Pitcher

PITCHER (David) HUGH
Passed away unexpectedly and unnecessarily on Saturday, July 27, 2019. To continue his love of Volkswagens, the cottage and motorcycles, and to cherish his memory, Hugh leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Susi, his daughter Carrie (Steve), and his sons Matthew (Meaghan) and Jesse (Lindsay). Hugh's grandchildren - Avery, Dexter, Jacob and Lilia - were his pride and joy.

Full of life and love, Hugh had a passion for the outdoors, restoring VW bugs, and going for motorcycle rides with Susi. He also loved teaching his kids and grandkids how to fish, drive a boat, waterski, maintain their vehicles, to stand up for themselves, and so much more.

Hugh's smile was infectious and he shared it willingly with those he knew and loved, along with the people he encountered wherever he was.

Hugh lived well, laughed often and loved much.
He looked for the best in others and always gave the very best he had. He will always hold a special place in his loved one's lives, full of memories of how he helped shape their futures and guided them through thick and thin.

Hugh Pitcher's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home (507 Frederick Street, Kitchener) on Wednesday, August 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, August 8 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. His Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. In memory of Hugh, please come in your favourite Hawaiian shirt.

Hugh's last ride will take place following the service on August 8. If you ride, please ride your motorcycle to the funeral home and join the procession following his service. A reception will follow Hugh's last ride.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Motorcycle Ride for Dad - Grand River Chapter will be greatly appreciated. Visit henrywalser.com for Hugh's memorial.

When a motorcycle is in motion, please see more than the motorcycle - see the person under the helmet... It could be your friend, neighbour or relative. In this case, it was a husband, father and grandfather.
