Obituary for Connie Darlene Mader
Mader, Connie (nee: Schiedel):
Sadly passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 11, 2022 at home surrounded by her family at the age of 62.
Beloved wife of Doug Mader for 39 years. Loving mother of Scott (Andrea), Corlise (Milton) and Cassandra.
Survived by her dear Mom Shirley. Predeceased by her father Richard. Connie will be missed by her mother in-law Iva (and the late Bob) Mader.
Wonderful sister of Ron (Sue), Diane (Dan), Steve (Christine) and sister-in-law of Don (Linda, the late Louise), Cheryl (the late Jim), Rob and Valerie.
Caring Omi of 5 grandchildren: Erin, Richard, Jacob, William and Ava.
Connie was an avid gardener who took her inspiration directly from the biblical account of the Garden of Eden. Growing up on a dairy farm, she always had a love for farming.
Her passion for music was contagious; she loved to sing, play guitar and piano, and she did it with great joy. She was known for her sewing and quilting. Her grandchildren will always be wrapped in Omi's love with the beautiful quilts she made for them.
Connie enjoyed decorating and always knew how to make a home feel warm. She had a knack for photography, capturing many cherished moments with her grandchildren, nature's beauty in her gardens, and countless sunrises and sets across the farm.
To quote one of her favourite songs, “I feel no shame, I’m proud of where I came from. I was born and raised in the boondocks.” - Little Big Town.
Connie will be greatly missed by all whose lives she's touched.
Connie's family will hold a memorial service at Preston Mennonite Church on Saturday May, 21st at 10:30am. Reception to follow in the church's basement. At the request of the family, personal face coverings are required, and please RSVP your attendance through the funeral home website or by calling the funeral home directly.
