Rieck, Clarene Marie (Schagena, Ellis, Hatch) :
Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the age of 87.
Mother of Eric Ellis, Kevin and his wife Robin Ellis, Dale Ellis, and Cathy and her husband Tony Pereira. Cherished Grandma of Matthew, Nathan, Daniel, Christine, Maggie, Jonothon, and Jessica and great-grandma of Katyrina, Evelyn, and Rosemary.
Special friend to Diane Ellis and Darlene Alexander.
Predeceased by her son Paul, husbands, Ross Hatch and Donald Rieck, parents Edwin and Leona (Lackenbauer) Schagena and brothers Al and Stewart.
Clarene was a social worker for many years with the Catholic Family and Children Services in St. Catharines. She became the director for the Family and Children Services in Cambridge. After retiring, she worked on special projects for Catholic Family Services in the GTA and retired part time to Arizona.
Clarene's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 3-6 p.m. The family has requested all guests to wear masks during visiting with the family. Private interment at Woodland Cemetery at a later date.
Special thank you to the hardworking and caring staff at Pinehaven Nursing Home who took care of Clarene for the past four years.
