Clancy, Cecile (Boppie)
Passed away on September 1, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, ON at the age of 82, after a short illness and her third battle with cancer.
Following a beautiful courtship for three years, Tom and Cecile spent the next 60 nurturing their marriage and friendship. Adored and devoted mother of Kevin (Caroline) and Chris (Trudi). Supportive and loving Boppie to Drake (Paige), Keavah, Teagan (Cullen), Parker (Tamar), Jack and Graci. Much loved Great-Boppie to Maeve. She will be dearly missed by extended family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Alice and John Bruno, brothers John and Bill, and sister Teresa. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Cecile worked at M&T Bank in Niagara Falls, University of Guelph, Cornell University, and several employment agencies. As her family expanded, she dedicated herself to raising her two boys. Always an enthusiastic volunteer, she was also known for knitting beautiful sweaters for family and friends.
To be loved by Boppie was one of life's true gifts. Her sense of adventure, devotion to family and friends, quiet strength and easy laughter made her an absolute joy to be with. Boppie's dedication and support of her kids and grandkids resulted in countless hours in arenas, at soccer fields, ball diamonds, dance recitals, and endeared her to many sports families. Strong, courageous, loving, caring, devoted, and fun loving, with just the right amount of sass, that's our Boppie. As so many have mentioned, she was truly one of a kind. A terrific lady who made everyone feel welcome and important.
The story of our beautiful family began when two strangers saw each other across a skating rink. Their love story is one of unwavering love and respect, and will continue with the precious memories.
Boppie, thank you for loving us unconditionally, we will miss you.
Cecile's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, ON. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew's Memorial Anglican Church, 275 Mill Street, Kitchener, ON September 7th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. A reception to follow at Victoria Park Pavilion.
