Our Lifelabs colleague

We would like to pay tribute to a member of our team who lost her battle to lung cancer. Cathy Hazzard joined Lifelabs Sept 8, 2015. She was such an integral part of our team. She was a logistics trainer, who happily took new recruits under her wing, teaching them, laughing with them, checking in with them weeks later, just to make sure everything was going well with them. Cathy was a dedicated Lifelabs employee, ready to jump in at the last moment to fill in or rearrange routes and magically turn 3 routes into 2 when we were short staffed. She was everyones friend and comrade, joking and smiling to help lighten the load of a busy day. Cathy, willingly took on any extra task to help someone out. Many times, Cathy covered the supervisor when she was on vacation. She never missed a beat, taking on the scheduling, client requests or problems and all, without complaints while doing her own shift. Cathy would run vehicles around and drop them off at the shop, over a weekend or on her own time. When I would repeatedly ask her to submit her extra hours, Cathy wouldnt and would simply explain, I came to you for a job, I dont mind doing this. I am here to help, selfless and giving. She had an indomitable spirit which made Cathy a unique person. With her presence, she would provide strength, hope and courage to face each day with a smile. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family she left behind; her husband, parents, sister, two sons and grandchildren, whom she spoke so affectionately about at work. Cathy meant many things to many people and we will miss her dearly!
