Obituary

Palacios Caravantes, Carlos Humberto

Carlos was born in Guatemala City on June 5, 1943 even though he always claimed to be from Joyabaj. He came to Canada as a political refugee with his wife and three of his children on November 10, 1993. He was strong-willed and proud, a seeker of justice and a believer of truth. He was a man of deep conviction, intelligent, and witty. He knew how to dance, sing and whistle, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He touched the lives of many and always had a word of advice at the ready. We will miss him deeply. He left us on September 3rd, 2020 at Grand River Hospital with his wife Rita at his side. He is survived by his wife Rita Argueta, his children, (Carlos Fernando, Anaí Scarlett, Ismar Iván, Rita Mercedes, and Oswald Alejandro), his grandchildren, (Michelle Scarlett, Jonathan Kiram, Ángel Gabriel, Desmond Oswald and Audrey Lilian), and his siblings (Héctor Enrique, Julio Armando, Ángel Guillermo, Jorge Mario, Luis Gustavo y Berta Elizabeth). He was predeceased by his sister Gloria Amanda.

Due to Covid there will be no service at this time. Family and friends are encouraged to reach out, remember him, or to donate to the Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation in his memory.
