The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Carey Bissonnette can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Richard Oakley

I worked alongside Carey as a lecturer in Chem 120 for 15 years. During this time most of my graduate students served as tutors in the course – they were Carey’s “chosen ones”. Before that many of them had been undergraduate students of Carey when they first arrived on campus. We all felt proud to have been part of Carey’s “Chem 120 Team” and were shocked and saddened to learn of his passing. Carey was a man of boundless energy, a relentless optimist, a loyal and steadfast colleague, a trusted mentor, a creative and inspirational teacher. We will all miss him in our respective ways, but take solace in the countless memories of the good times we shared with him. To his family we extend our deepest sympathies. Richard, Leanne, Jaclyn, Alicea, Kristina, Karinna, Joanne and Steve.
