The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Carey Bissonnette can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Carey was an amazing professor and a great guy overall. He had a big influence on me throughout my undergraduate and graduate years at UW. Not only was I lucky enough to be in his section for Chem 120, but he was also the lecturer for my 2nd year thermodynamics course....content not typically known to be fun or engaging, but he was able to make it just that. As a graduate student I was part of his Chem 120 tutor team. I won't forget the numerous tutoring/proctoring/grading sessions, and his tendency to crack jokes throughout the process and make it fun. I also won't forget his endless support throughout my education and beyond, he was even a reference for me when I was just out school and trying to get going. I feel very fortunate to have had the chance to learn from him and work with him, I'm sorry that future UW students won't have the same chance.
