The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Burnell Reid can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Bernie was so much fun to be with and to curl with or against. We went to several Provincial Championships together, and rose to that level, largely because of Bernie. He didn't talk often about his time in the Forces but I did manage to pry a thing or two out of him over the years, but not even close to enough to realize what an accomplished member of the forces he was. From a curling standpoint, Bernie was what I would call a "feel curler". The speed and direction of the slide from the hack was strictly to get him to within about three feet from the hogline. That part of his delivery had absolutely nothing to do with the intended shot, but only designed to get him to that position where he would then make several mid course corrections which were understood by none other than Bernie, but the end result, was that the intended shot was made perfectly. When I skipped with Bernie, we had an agreement, that when he was throwing, my placement of the broom was strictly ceremonial, but that he would do whatever he thought he needed to do, to make the shot. That agreement worked every time. I'll miss you Bern, you were a great friend. Show em' how to make shots up there. Bruce
