Obituary for Branko Blazon

Blazon, Branko:

"Every man's life ends the same way. It's only the details of how he lived that distinguish one man from another." - Ernest Hemingway.

A beloved husband, a devoted family man, a caring father. Always a helping-hand kind of friend, and the most decorated title of them all; a fun-loving Dida, a cherished Grandfather to five wonderful grandchildren! Taken from us quickly in the evening of August 9th, 2023, in the bleakness of sudden death, we are glad you did not suffer. In exchange for our loss, we are called to accept that a heart of gold has been taken from us and we are left to commemorate a family hero, a gentle soul, a most loving man who gave everything for his family.

Loving husband to Helen. Loving father to son Thomas (Sarah), daughters Maja (Matthew Brown), and Monica Moodey (James). Devoted grandfather to Reese and Daniel, Sebastian and Keaton Moodey, and Noelle Brown. Admired brother to Joška, Franca, Verona, Slavi and Zvonko and many nieces and nephews in Slovenia and Croatia and abroad. Predeceased by parents Maria and Tomo, sister Katarina and brothers August, Feri and Miška.

Fascinated by cowboy hats and big cars, in 1970 Branko set on a journey from Croatia to Canada to join his now late brother, August. Later meeting Helen, they happily married in 1976 and enriched themselves by creating a loving family and friendship around them. There was always fun and adventure around Branko. He loved windsurfing, the outdoors and traveling, always making beautiful memories with family and friends all around the world.

And so, you will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by everyone as a kind soul. A gentle and happy soul. Please be our angel to watch over us now and forever.
