Obituary for Antonio Jeronimo Claro

Claro, Antonio Jeronimo:

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Antonio Claro on Monday, April 18, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 86. He passed away peacefully with Ilda, his loving wife of 60 years, by his side.

Loving father of Ilda (Joe) Melo and Linda Grobe (Andy Brast).
Cherished Avô of Shaun (Phanida), Marc (Liliana), Jacob and Liam, and Great-Avô of Jaxon and Zayne.
Dear brother of Silvino Jeronimo (Maria).
Predeceased by his brother Joaquim Luis.

Antonio was born and raised in a small farming community in Portugal. He came to Canada in the hope of providing a better future for his family. He spent most of his life working in the construction industry and although it was a physically demanding job, he always took great pride in his work. He enjoyed gardening, making his yearly batch of wine and spending summers at the trailer. He loved being surrounded by family and friends enjoying good food, having laughs and was always one of the last to leave a party. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Antonio's family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish prayers at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at St. Mark's RC Parish, 55 Driftwood Dr., Kitchener. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation - Cardiac Care would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
