Obituary for Anne E. Jung

Anne Jung 1933 - 2023

Born in Grenfell, Saskatchewan, the daughter of Elisabeth and Friederich Vetter, Anne passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and their spouses on November 4, 2023.

Anne was predeceased by her dear husband, Horst. They had shared 63 years of marriage together. Lovingly remembered and cherished by her daughters, Elizabeth and her husband Daniel Platt; and Barbara and her husband Roland Krueger. As well as grandchildren, Alex and Ben, who adored her.

She will be greatly missed by her siblings, John, Bill, Lore, Erika and Alf. As well as her brother-in-law, Gerhard, and many cherished friends in both Germany and Canada.

Anne's family moved from Saskatchewan back to Germany when she was young, and this is where she spent several years of her childhood and youth. Although she was separated from her family during the second world war, she came to meet the love of her life, Horst. Anne and Horst came back to Canada in 1954 and were married shortly thereafter.

Anne was employed as an assembler of radios, record players and television sets at Electrohome Manufacturing in Kitchener. After the girls were born, she took great pride in looking after her home and family on a full-time basis.

Up until her passing, Anne was living in the beautiful home that she and Horst built in Campbellville. She had enjoyed living there with Horst and the girls, and after Horst's passing, it was a comfort for her to continue to live in the home that was her little piece of nature and good memories. In total, she lived in that home for 50 years of her life. Anne and Horst truly enjoyed hosting friends, relatives and guests from Germany in that home over the years.

Liz, Dan, Barb and Roland wish to thank the many caregivers involved in keeping Anne safe and comfortable in her home, including everyone at Home and Community Care Support Services who were true professionals, and all of the kind and gentle PSW's from Closing the Gap. A special thank you to Pam, Nomita and Dr. Wronsberg at the Carlisle Medical Center who cared for Mom over the years. Many thanks to Dr. Surya and her team as well. Finally, the paramedics, doctors and staff at Milton Hospital were wonderful in Mom's final hours.

A Celebration of Anne's Life will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519) 749-8467.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
