Obituary for Anne Cornelia DeVries

DeVries, Anne (nee Rauws):

Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 69.

Beloved wife of John for almost 53 years. Loving mother of Tina Olthoff (John), Maria Flikkema (Albert), Michael (Cathy), Julia Hlebka (Stephen) and Martin (Amy). Cherished grandmother of Megan, Jocelyn and Kelton Olthoff, Jessica Frank (Kevin), Samantha Flikkema (Claudius Dalm), Alexa and Mikayla Flikkema, Camden (Selina), Makena and Jacob DeVries, Logan and Peyton Hlebka, and Aubrey DeVries. Dear sister of Tom, Rita Byma (Henk), Irene Zylstra (Case) and Earl (Carol). Fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both in the Netherlands and Canada.

Predeceased by parents, Tom and Jozina (nee Strybos), brother, Mervyn and sister-in-law, Lee.

Anne was an avid reader, loved camping and travelling, enjoyed volunteer work with World Renew DRS, and loved spending time with family.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses and support staff at Grand River Hospital, First Responders, and especially the staff and fellow campers at Laurel Creek Conservation Area.

Anne's family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the Community Christian Reformed Church, 1275 Bleams Rd, Kitchener. Visitation will continue from 10-10:45 am on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the church followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Private interment Williamsburg Cemetery followed by a reception at the church.
