Obituary for Anna Marie Strauss

Strauss, Anna Marie Olive (nee Huber)

It is with hearts filled with sadness, love and wonderful memories that we announce the death of our mother Anna, who the Lord called home peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in her 95th year.

Anna is now reunited with her beloved husband Linus (1987) and son Patrick (1974).

She will be sadly missed, but always remembered by her children Shirley & Charles Graham, Jim & Linh, Murray and Nancy, Francis & Sandra, Allan & Marilyn, Julie & Jim Nafziger, David & Mairead and Gary & Karen.

Beloved Grandma to 19 grandchildren and their spouses and treasured great grandma to 21.

She was the daughter of the late Seraphine and Olivia (Bohnert) Huber. Survived by her brother Albin (Patricia) Huber, and her sister Geraldine Weiss.

Predeceased by Linus and Helen Huber, Magdalene and Gordon Steffler, Florence and Jack Arnold, Josephine and Peter Mitchell, Robert Weiss and Melvin Huber.

Mom and Dad farmed in Maryhill and were faithful members of St. Boniface Church for over 50 years. Mom enjoyed volunteering at the Maryhill Nursing Home and was a lifelong member of the Catholic Women’s League. She will be remembered for her baking and cooking, for making dozens of quilts and she will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Anna's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 24, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467.

Parish prayers 4 pm Thursday afternoon.

The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 25, 2022 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 75 Bluevale St. N., Waterloo followed by a reception.

Interment St. Boniface Cemetery, Maryhill
