Scheklesky, Allen Leonard

Passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Windsor as a result of complications from cardiac arrhythmia at the age of 55.

Beloved husband of Kim (nee Mauritzen) for 27 years

Loving father of Laura Yelle (Eric), Emily and Kerri.

Dear son of Joan Scheklesky and the late Leonard (2016).

Dear brother of Darrel (Dianne) and their son Max and Leanne Read (Dwayne) and their children Brandon, Cody and Erika.


Dear son-in-law of Linda and Henning Mauritzen. Dear brother-in-law of Wayne Mauritzen (Edith).


Allen had a lifelong passion for sports. He was actively involved as either a coach or referee (South West Soccer Referees Association) with his daughters soccer teams. He will be missed by his Kitchener Minor Hockey family. As a young person he played hockey and he stayed involved as a coach and trainer. Recently he was the trainer for the Midget AAA Jr. Rangers and also assisted with the Kitchener Platers.
For many years Allen volunteered with the K-W Oktoberfest recently serving on the Onkle Hans Committee.
As a truck driver for Penske Logistics, Allen enjoyed his work and the people he met through his work.


Friends and family are welcome to join us to celebrate Allen’s life on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 2 PM to 5 PM at Bingemans Ballroom, 425 Bingemans Centre Drive, Kitchener.


Memories will be shared at 3:30 PM.


In Allen’s memory, donations to Donna’s Kids (The Donna Weber Sponsored Children’s Program helps children in our community play minor hockey), would be appreciated by the family (cards may be arranged by calling the Henry Walser Funeral Home or at Bingemans).
