Obituary for Allan James Cassidy

Cassidy, Allan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Allan passed away peacefully at home in Otterville ON surrounded by the love of family on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the age of 67.

Beloved husband of Sandra (nee Robinson) for 46 years. Dear father of Mike (Eva) and David. Dear Opa to Keryn, Briggs and Allia. He leaves behind his sisters, Elaine Lippert (Rod), Betty Gail Lorentz, Colleen Coleman (Ken) and sister in-law Connie McCorrey (Bill). Allan will be missed and remembered by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Mildred Cassidy (nee Weiler) and his brother Terry (2008).

Allan had a long career in policing starting with City of Kitchener Police Force at the age of 18 and retired from Waterloo Regional Police Service as a Staff Sergeant after 32 years service. In retirement he moved to a farm in Norfolk County where he pursued his love of breeding horses. He had a love for the outdoors in particular hunting, fishing and working in the bush. He had a wonderful gift of turning logs into furniture for his family.

Always the practical joker, Allan had a gift for meeting people everywhere he went and loved to tell or listen to a story. Allan impacted most people he met, always taking time to exchange stories and life experiences.
The family wish to extend our appreciation to Pauline Marcus NP and to Theresa, Marianne, & Michelle, the nursing team from Oxford Care Partners for their support through Allan's difficult journey.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place as restrictions subside.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Trees For Woolwich would be appreciated by the family (cards may be placed by calling the Henry Walser Funeral Home 519-749-8467)
