Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday, March 2, 2023 in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband of Roseanne (nee Bulger) for 61 years. Loving father of Shelley Zettler (Kevin), T. MacDonald (Lisa) and Robert MacDonald (Angela). Very proud Poppy of Amanda (Rob), Becky (Jamal), Andrew, Brittany, Stephanie and Great-Poppy of Amelia, Penelope and Welsh. Son of the late Alexander and Alice MacDonald. Dear brother of Jean, Michael and the late Dennis (Christine) and Frances (Don Seltenreich). Brother-in-law of Jim Bulger (late Sylvia), Marie McDonald (late Tommy), Harry Bulger (Millie), Jeanette Jones (Lemont), Sharon White (John) Betty Bulger, Kathy Murphy (Bill) and Philip Bulger (Odette). Alex will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews in Newfoundland and the United States. Sadly missed by his many friends, neighbours, and in particular, his Highland Rd. "McDonald's family".
Alex's family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, (519) 749-8467. Prayers 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 49 Blueridge Ave., on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 11 a.m. Fr. Murray McDermott C.R. officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall.
