Obituary for Agnes Knox Dobson

Agnes (Nancy) Dobson
1924-2021

Nancy passed away peacefully on Thursday April 15th at Grand River Hospital after a brief illness. She is dancing once again with the love of her life Gord (2000). She leaves behind her daughters Margaret Balog (Jim) and Marilyn Motz (George 2014), her grandkids Laura Green (Jamie) and Michael Balog (Ashley) and her great grandkids who affectionately referred to her as “Dobson”, Skylar, Ashlyn and Colten Green and Wesley and Kate Balog. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Mom and Dad spent many years with the couples club of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church through which they met some of their closest friends. Mom was a long time member of Group 12 the Women’s league at the church. One of the fondest memories is mom’s love of baking and carrying on the tradition of her mom’s famous carrot pudding at Christmas with brandy sauce NOT lemon.

After dad’s passing mom had 9 years on her own at their Greenbrook Dr. home, thanks to her neighbours who watched out for her. She then called Winston Park home where she resided for 11 years. Now she is reunited with her husband, her son-in-law, her parents, siblings and many friends. I am sure George is lining up a parade in her honour and probably having a toast to welcome her arrival. We would appreciate in lieu of flowers you perform an act of kindness in this somewhat crazy world we are currently living in. Hold your loved ones close and treasure your time together. A private graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
