Obituary for Edward George Stankiewicz

Edward George Stankiewicz
Stankiewicz, Edward
Passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, September 12, 2019 in his 90th year. Loving brother of Stephanie (Terry Lippert), William Stankiewicz (Joyce), Myron Stankiewicz (Anne) and the late Vi Altman and Stan Stankiewicz. Dear brother-in-law of Herb Altman. Uncle Eddy was dearly loved and cherished by his nieces, nephews and their families, who thought the world of him. He was well-liked by everyone he met. Eddy played for the Kitchener Dutchmen, many years in the American and Western Hockey Leagues, as well as a stint with the Detroit Red Wings. Once his playing career was over, he coached in Austria.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 11 Traynor Ave. Kitchener, on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the Henry Walser Funeral Home or at the church on the day of the service).
