The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Francis Hess can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Hildegard O'Connell
Condolence: I often recall the words of wisdom that Frank gave to me before my first marathon, the evening the four of us, Frank, Ginny Dan and I went out to dinner. "the race goes not to the swift but to the smart". I applied that to a successful marathon and remember those words often as I go thru my life journey. Frank, you are missed.
XO Hildegard and Dan

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers go out to Ginny and her family. I met Ginny at Village of Winston Park long term care floor where my mother resides as well. Ginny was being a lovning wife and helping Frank to eat. Although it was very, very difficult for Ginny she continued to do the best she could for Frank. Even though I didn't know Frank, I did see a very brave man who's wife was also very brave and loving. Ginny we both know Frank is in a better place in the arms of the Lord and out of that wheelchair.

May God Bless and comfort you in this time of loss.

Condolence: Frank was a giant in the eyes of my friend Michelle (Frank’s daughter). You would have thought he was 10 feet tall and wore a super hero cape by the way she described him.

Because I live in Michigan it took a while to meet the amazing runner, story teller giant of a man.

When I finally got to meet him she was spot on. He was a giant, but in so many more ways than she described. He was gentle and patient and kind. He was interested in me as a person not just Michelle's friend.

When we parted I remember him call his daughter by a nick name (Mitch). I asked her later how it came about. The story was endearing, something only a father and daughter could share.

At that moment, I knew he was taller than 10 feet. His height reached to the Heavens and so did his heart.

God rest your soul Frank.

Condolence: "Is God calling him?" was Laura's question on Saturday afternoon. Brooklyn said that it is both a happy and a sad day because we will all see Grandpa again. We will! AND it will be the greatest happy hour ever! Love, Paul, Brooklyn and Laura
