Covid-19:  What Are We Doing To Keep You and Our Employees Safe?

The health and safety of our guests and employees are our top priorities.

At this time, Henry Walser Funeral Home is able to continue to operate and welcome the public for visitation and services. We want to assure you that the Henry Walser Team is taking proactive measures to help prevent the spread of any potential illness. We are closely monitoring the Federal and Provincial health authorities, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and following guidelines from these agencies or local health departments and our Bereavement Authorities of Ontario directives (BAO).

To keep our guests and employees safe we will continue to comply with the directives from our BAO and our Waterloo Region.

  • Wearing of masks, or face coverings, by everyone is mandatory. This includes all staff and attendees
  • (Paper disposable masks are sufficient, not N95. People may wear their own masks or face coverings)
  • Maximum attendance restriction are in place with physical distancing for indoor and outdoor funerals and visitations.
  • All persons attending a gathering must remain at least two metres apart from each other and our funeral home staff unless they are members of the same household.
  • Attendances must be scheduled by appointment only with screening and logging of the attendee upon arrival.

What to expect:

  • We are asking for a maximum of 2 people to attend in-office appointments.
  • We will continue to clean and disinfect our facilities before and after each service with particular attention paid to high touch items.
  • Proper and frequent hand washing is vital to help combat the spread of viruses.
  • We have placed the hand sanitizer in a location that is more visible as you enter the funeral home.
  • Employees who exhibit cold or flu-like symptoms have been instructed to stay home from work.
  • We request that guests who are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms including fever, cough and shortness of breath or have been in contact with someone who may have these symptoms refrain from visiting Henry Walser Funeral Home at this time.
  • All funeral and/or cremation arrangements may be made over the phone if necessary.
  • Live streaming is available, subject to the capacity of our internet provide. Livestream is not available for outdoor services during the winter months and in poor weather conditions.
  • We highly recommend you rely on trusted and respected health services for information on the virus.
