Condolence: I am deeply sorry for your loss. I cannot believe that I have been so out of touch that I missed the passing of both of your parents. I will never forget their love and kindness shared with a very shy and self-conscious teenage friend of Mary Anne's. Condolence: Family and friends, I was sorry to read of Don's passing in the Waterloo Region Record. I was first acquainted with Don when we both played for the Bridgeport Vets Intermediate OHA Champions in 1951. Later on during the 1960's we were both enrolled in a Guidance Course sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of Education in Toronto. I believe that at that time he was employed as a teacher at St. Jerome's High School in Kitchener. Around the same time I was employed at the Wingham District High School and later became the Principal of the F. E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham retiring in 1984. He was one of the most lovable and interesting persons I have ever known. Condolence: I will miss Mr. Pickett's hugs. At the Ed Centre where we worked, he would walk by my little cubicle in Special Ed and it seemed like he always knew when I was having a bad day because he would appear for a hug. I am in awe and amazement at how Mr. and Mrs. Pickett raised such a large, wonderful family and survived.
