Passed away peacefully, following a lengthy illness, on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Jean for over 56 years. Loving father of Paul (Jan), Bradley (Lorraine), David and the late Brian. Proud Grandpa of Krista, Melissa and Kyle. Son of the late Cecil and Edna Eckmier. Dear brother of Bill, Isabel (late Tom Sawchyn) and the late Marie (Delmer Buchanan) and Ross (Clara-May) Eckmier. Fondly remembered by the Houston family and all the rest of his extended family and friends.
Ron's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday November 8, 2016 and from 10-10:45 a.m. on Wednesday November 9, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Reception to follow. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery in Breslau. Private cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
