Condolence: Award-winning poet and photographer, Helm Filipowitsch-- the best friend anyone could have in this life -– passed away. The last time I saw him, with his beautiful wife and my friend Carol, we vacationed together in and around Brownsville VT. That was September 2013, 13 years after we met on North Captiva Island, and 15 years after meeting in an online poetry workshop. From their home in Kitchener, Ontario, one year, driving the 600 miles to Boston, they stopped by where I was working in Lowell MA. That's how he was, always a friend, and how he will continue to be, dropping by in spirit from time to time, to say hello, to talk, take walks in the woods, by a river, to take photos, to share poetry, music, friends, more good times, all good with Helm.

Carol and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am crying with you.
