Obituary for Brian Alexander Schell

Schell, Brian Alexander "Poppy" (1944-2014)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brian at home on Thursday June 5, 2014 in his 71st year. Beloved husband and soulmate of Lynn (nee Milne) for 47 wonderful years. Loving father of Steve (Wendy) Schell, Laura (Jason) Schwindt and Darryl (Brooke) Schell. Most amazing Poppy to Taylor, Cole, Sydney, Kai, Brady, Cooper and Maguire. Brian leaves behind his sister Sharon (Bernie) Pasula, brothers-in-law Gord and Howard (Cathy) Milne. Predeceased by his parents Buddy and Stella Schell, brother-in-law Arnie Milne and sister-in-law Audry Milne. Brian's pride and joy were his grandkids...winters in the rinks and summers at the pool. Whether it be hockey, baseball, lacrosse, judo or swimming, Poppy was sure to be cheering them on. Brian worked for many years at Uniroyal Goodrich until closing. He moved on to work at Schneider Foods until his retirement. His most rewarding job of all though was being Poppy to his little army of grandkids. Special thanks to Betty and Blayne Nowe for their never-ending support. Also to CCAC and Melissa and Chris from Paramed for their wonderful care. Brian's family will receive relatives and friends from 3-5 and 7-9 pm on Monday June 9 and 12-12:45 pm on Tuesday June 10 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 1 pm. Reception to follow. Donations in loving memory of Brian can be made to the Waterloo Regional Down Syndrome Society in support of Maguire (cards available at the funeral home).
