Anton "Tony" Fischer 1922 - 2014

It is with sadness that the family of Anton Fischer announces the passing of our Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Anton joined his beloved wife Julianna Fischer (Hoeger) who predeceased him April 26th of this year. Anton and Julianna had the good fortune of sharing their lives in marriage for 72 years. Left to mourn are his children Gerald (Marlene) Fischer, and Nel (Ted) Vizkeleti, his grandchildren Christine (Andrew) Guy, Cathrine Fischer and partner Harry Slaby, Leanne (Rob) Schaefer and Steven Lautenschlager, and great-grandchildren William Guy and Emma Guy, Paige Schaefer and Devon Schaefer. Predeceased by his parents Mathias and Agnes Fischer of whom he was an only child. Left also to mourn is his only cousin and cherished friend Katie Imhoff, who lovingly misses both Anton and Julie.

Very special gratitude goes to Anton Fischer's cousin, Katherine Imhoff for her continuing support and love; gratitude also to Grand River Hospital Renal Unit 3rd Floor where he received continuing care for 5 years. Both Julie and Tony were proud to be members of a card playing group of friends for 25 years, memories that they both cherished. Tony was a long time and faithful employee of J.M. Schneider's where he worked for over 40 years.

Tony's family will receive relatives and friends from 12 - 12:45 pm on Thursday May 15, 2014 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Liturgy will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday May 15, 2014 at 1 pm. Lunch to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Dialysis Unit or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
