Life Story for Myrtle Smith

Passed away peacefully, Monday, July 23, 2007 at Lanark Heights at the age of 90. Born Myrtle May Ashton on June 4, 1917 in Clinton, Ontario, she lived many years in Stratford and then Kitchener.
Survived by her daughter Heather and her husband Joe Doucette and son-in-law Ed Fronchak all of Kitchener. Dear grandmother of John Zeller (Rose), Rod Doucette (Shelley), David Fronchak (Jen), Debra Mae Dubé (Rob) and Dan Fronchak (Andrea). Great-grandmother of Sherri and Michael Zeller, Jase and Kassidy Doucette, Amanda and Zachary Fronchak, Deanna Mae and Danielle Dubé and Josie and Emmiline Fronchak. Dear sister of Hazel Admans, Velma Smith and Mildred Hanley and sister-in-law Norma Ashton. Myrtle will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Jacqueline Mae Fronchak (2005), son John in infancy, 1st husband John Stones Robertson who was killed in action (1943), 2nd husband William Smith (1963). Also predeceased by brothers Cecil, Harvey and Clifford Ashton and sisters Grace Easom, Isabell Ashton and Edna Fremlin and brother's-in-law Don Hanley and Hoy Fremlin.
Myrtle was an avid bingo player and bowler (both five pin and ten pin). She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Myrtle's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 12:30 to 2:15 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 2:30 PM in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception.
Cremation to follow.
Special thanks to everyone at Lanark Place and Lanark Heights who were so good to her. We will miss her more than words can say, but are happy that she is, at last, out of pain. Mom you were very brave.
As expressions of sympathy donations to Canadian Cancer and Diabetes associations would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
