Uberig, Frederick
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred Uberig who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the age of 82.
Beloved husband of Joyce Uberig for 34 years. Fred will be in Joyce’s heart for ever. Loving father of Anna St. John (Scot), Nick St. John (Linda), Lisa Seibert (Randy), Cathy Uberig, Wendy Weiss (the late Cory) and Steve Uberig (Dale). Predeceased by his son David at the age of 16.
Grandpa will be missed by his grandchildren Amber, Morgan, Chloe, Alex, Andrew, Nicole, Keelan, Lukas, Cameron, Jordan, Sydney, Sophia, Meghan, Katie, David, Amanda (Warren), David (Nicole), Jenny and great-grandchildren Olivia and Madison.
Dear brother of Thelma Snyder and twin sister June Heibein (Don).
Fred retired as manager of the Service Department of Sutherland and Schultz after 47 years service. He loved his work at Sutherland and Schultz and was well respected by those who worked with him. In his retirement he shared his talents and crafts with everyone who knew him. His family will treasure forever the many gifts he’s made for them. Joyce holds many memories of their wonderful travels together.
Fred’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, September 12, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. and on Tuesday September 13, 2011 from 10-10:45am. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. The Funeral Service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 am on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 followed by a reception.
Cremation to follow.
