Contant, James
formerly of Essex Ontario, passed away at University Hospital, London, Ontario, peacefully with family by his side on Thursday July 7, 2011, at the age of 57.
Jim traveled a bit during his short life, he joined the navy at age 22, and after that he lived quite a few years in BC. He also had been a partner in a roofing company and later on in a flooring company in Kitchener. He had been unable to work for many years due to health restrictions.
He leaves to mourn his siblings Margaret (Ray) Chapeskie of Eganville, Jackie (Ed) Shipway of Sprucedale, Colleen Titsis of Montreal, Tony of Eganville, Gary (Cathy) of Kitchener, Gail Hodgins (Gord Cameron) of Red Deer, AB, John (Val) of Waterloo, Debbie (Rick) Feener of Kitchener and Michael of Halifax, NS; stepbrother Britt (Linda) Belisle of Gravenhurst and many friends especially Tom Pinsonneault of Essex. The beloved uncle to Edwin and Cheryl Chapeskie; Julie (Troy Skuse) and Patti (Pete Hounslow) Shipway; Tina (Edgard de Aza) and Dimitri Titsis; Jocelyn (Blaine) Orieux and Wesley Langlois; Matthew and Christopher Contant; Jason (Jen), Ayla (Daniel Anstett), and Holly Contant; April and Samantha Feener; and Damon Contant. Great uncle to Todd and Ty Orieux, Eleanor and Jason Contant Jr., and Ethan Cotrina. Predeceased by his parents Emmett Contant and Beatrice (Connaughan) Contant, Step-Mother Kathleen Contant, Step-brother Stuart Belisle and a nephew in infancy John Contant Jr.. Cremation has taken place. The family is having a celebration of Jim’s life at Kiwanis Park, 600 Kiwanis Dr., Kitchener, On, on Monday July 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Tim Horton's picnic shelter.
