Ulmer, Gustav (Gus)
It is with deep sadness that the family of Gustav (Gus) Ulmer announces his passing on January 10, 2010 at Grand River Hospital (KWHC) at the age of 76. Gus was born in Heilbronn, Germany on September 25, 1933. He was the devoted husband of Judy for 57 years. He is survived by his children, Robert, Richard (Danielle Lynch), Susan (Dave Wittie), and Michael (Shelley). He was a loving Opa to his grandchildren Meaghan and Zachary Ulmer, Alexandria Lynch, Ryan and Nylan Wittie, Jessica, Tyler and Kaitlyn Ulmer and “Great” Opa to Mikala Hunt. He is also survived by his brother, Werner (Eva) Ulmer in Germany. Gus was predeceased his parents Gustav and Frieda Ulmer, one brother, Walter Ulmer, and his sister, Margarete Rippel. Gus immigrated to Canada via Montreal in 1952. He was the owner and founder of Ulmer Realty Ltd since 1959. He was also president of the K-W Real Estate Board in 1971 and an active Real Estate Broker for 46 years.
The family of Gus Ulmer will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 7-9 pm on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm and on Thursday from 10-10:45 am at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service 11 am on Thursday, January 14, 2010 in the chapel of the funeral home.
